| • Yumeire Clan • Kekkei Genkai: Yuudoku Chishio ("Toxic Blood") Kekkei Genkai Type: Chakra/Blood Alteration & Manipulation Description: This kekkei genkai gives users the ability to turn their own blood into a weapon. This weapon is poison, hence the ability's name. The Toxic Blood technique is dormant unless activated. Once activated, the blood will be altered by chakra into an offensive weapon that will harm opponents to varying degrees depending on the level accessed. During the time it is activated, chakra will constantly be eaten up to maintain the blood's terrible potency. If the user spills blood while this bloodline limit is activated, that blood will continue to function as poison even after the ability is deactivated. This ability requires one's blood to come into contact with the opponent--most often internal--so it is necessary for clan members to spill their own blood to access the poison in their veins with which to attack the enemy. This poisoned blood only needs a single open wound to enter into the target's body--direct contact with the red liquid ensures that the poison will do its job, given power by the chakra infused into it. In addition, this ability will gradually eat away at one's chakra once it's activated. As higher levels are accessed, the chakra consumption will increase proportionally to the strength of the poison. It should also be noted that although ninja of any rank can use any level of this technique, it is not advised to go beyond one's physical limit. Those of low rank may find it excessively hard to maintain the poison's strength if their chakra levels are too low, or they may risk severe damage or even death if they attempt to use the strongest levels without first having the experience and training that accompany the higher shinobi ranks. Example: If a genin attempts to use level 5, it may very well destroy him/her. *Though this kekkei genkai is powerful, the stronger levels of this ability have been known to react adversely to particular chakra natures. The more powerful the level, the greater chance it has to be forcefully deactivated by an opponent. An opponent with the needed chakra nature may slow or even stop the poison's effect by enabling a surge of chakra throughout his/her body. This requires a variable amount of chakra to be expended, but in this process the poisonous chakra will be nullified--either gradually or quickly, depending on how much chakra is used by the target & how strong the level is currently activated within the target. Population: B Class 500 people. Though only half have the Kekkei Genkai. Current Head of the Clan is Mai Yumeire. Members: Hidden Leaf Village 1/4Yumeire Haruka Hidden Sand Village 0/3Hidden Mist Village 0/3Levels: - Spoiler:
Level 1 Mild poison. Blood must come into contact with the target's circulatory system to work. When the user's toxic blood mixes with the target's, it is carried throughout the body and causes a burning sensation throughout the target's body. This burning feeling will increase with time, its purpose being to make all movement uncomfortable. At its height this poison will feel like a mild acid throughout the body, but it doesn't do any real damage. Because this level of poison is relatively weak, it wears off with time. Chakra consumption: Very small. 4 Chakra and 2 Stamina per post. Duration: 2 posts (by target). Effect: -2 Speed to victim. -1 Stamina per post.
Level 2 Moderate poison. Blood must come into contact with the target internally to work. The user's blood, once it has entered into the target's body or bloodstream, will induce a very intense burning sensation. Like level 1, this poison affects the nervous system but doesn't cause any permanent damage. While afflicted by this poison, the target will feel an intense fire throughout the body that intensifies with harsh movement. This poison also will attack muscles eventually, but it only causes pain, not real damage. This level of poison wears off with time. Chakra consumption: Low. 8 Chakra and 4 Stamina per post. Duration: 3 posts (by target). Effect: -3 Speed and -2 Taijutsu to victim. -2 Stamina per post.
Level 3 Severe poison. This poison will induce great pain once it enters the body. This pain is very strong and comes in waves every minute or two. It most greatly affects the heart--putting stress on it to make it beat faster. This may induce a false sense of panic or excitement in some, potentially exhausting them faster. With the intense waves of pain of this poison, the target may experience light-headedness and feel off-balance at times. The intensity of the full-body agony also has the potential to make it harder to fight in general. Every sizable gesture and movement causes further pain. Those with low pain tolerance will find it difficult to move as usual. This poison, because of its strength, requires more chakra, but it also lasts a bit longer than the lower levels. Chakra consumption: Moderate. 12 Chakra and 6 Stamina per post. Duration: 4 posts (by target). Effect: -4 Speed and -3 Taijutsu to victim. -3 Stamina per post.
Level 4 Highly destructive and immensely painful poison. The toxic blood of this level is extremely agonizing. This poison is so strong that it will begin to slowly dissolve anything it comes into contact with--be it flesh, bone, muscle tissue, etc. Contact with this blood causes an instant, ice-cold sensation. This chilled feeling, however, masks what the poison is doing. It eats away at the flesh around the point of contact, and it will continue acting as a painful acid as it moves through the target's body. This poison, once inside the body, goes from an icy-cold feeling to a searing, burning one. It causes intense, constant pain as it moves through the circulatory system--first attacking the chest, then the limbs, then the muscles, and eventually the brain. Those affected by this level of poison are often very affected by the extreme pain. It becomes more difficult for just about anyone to move with any great speed or control. This level is highly effective in slowly down an enemy's movements and making them suffer greatly, but it also has a catch. The user is pained by it, as well.
The poison for this level is so powerful that it induces a lingering pain throughout the user's body. This pain is only a fraction of what the target feels, but it is enough to make the user suffer and notice the poison's effects. The strength of this poison is too much for any human's circulatory system to be able to withstand, though the user will, naturally, have a great resistance to its effects. In addition, due to this level's great agony, it uses up a good amount of chakra as it is used over time. The effects of this poison are shorter lived but incredibly effective. Chakra consumption: High. 48 Chakra and 24 Stamina per post. Duration: 2 posts (by target). Potential Deactivation: Wind or Earth Nature. Effect: -5 Speed, -4 Taijutsu to victim. -4 Stamina per post. -2 Speed, -3 Taijutsu to user. -2 Stamina per post.
Level 5 Devastating, acidic poison. This is the strongest level of poison that the Yuudoku Chishio can create. It is, simply put, catastrophic to anything it touches. This poison needs no open wound to enter one's body--it will eat a hole through flesh in a matter of seconds. Though its effect on flesh is on its own extremely painful, it becomes twenty times more torturous once it's inside the body. This poison wracks the body with so much fiery agony that simply lifting an arm or taking a breath will cause one to suffer. The target will undoubtedly see stars from the intensity of this level. In addition, those affected by this blood often hallucinate. These hallucinations are fueled by the unique chakra imbued into the blood beforehand. These hallucinations vary greatly among individuals, though most often people see their surroundings distorted before their eyes. Mirror copies of the user or trees, birds and shrubs--anything in the victim's line of sight will be distorted. These hallucinations affect the other senses as well, but sight is the worst. In addition to the pain and affect on the brain, this poison--because it works as an acid--often causes some degree of internal bleeding.
This takes a few minutes to take effect, but when the blood begins eating through tissue the target is immediately and very painfully aware of it. This poison takes a short amount of time to do its work, but it's devastating in potency. In fact, it would easily kill a smaller, weaker shinobi without prompt medical treatment. On the user's end, this chakra-infused poison induces a strong pain. This pain is about a tenth of what the target feels, but it is enough to make the user feel dizzy. Those that activate this level must work quickly and then deactivate it, because prolonged activation of this powerful poison makes for intense vertigo and worse pain. If the user is forced to endure this poison for a prolonged period before landing a hit, the damage done to his or her body would be noticeable by the blood exiting the user's mouth or nose, and occasionally the eyes. This poison contains killing intent, and therefore uses a large amount of chakra to activate. Only a very skilled medic could heal the peak damage from this level of poison. And if skin exposure is extensive, this blood may leave scars even after the body has eventually recovered. This level of poisonous blood is only to be used if the one using it truly wishes to kill someone, because it--unlike the 4 other levels--will not wear off. It continues to affect the body indefinitely unless powerful medical aid is administered. Chakra consumption: Extremely great. 96 Chakra and 48 Stamina per post. Duration: Does not wear off naturally. Potential Deactivation: Fire or Wind Nature. Effect: -7 Speed, -6 Taijutsu, -4 Genjutsu, -2 Ninjutsu to victim. -5 Stamina per post. -4 Taijutsu, 2 Genjutsu, -1 Ninjutsu to user. -3 Stamina per post.
Clan history: The Yumeire clan was founded several years before the existence of the Waterfall village. The founder is unknown, but it is rumored that it was a powerful special jounin. After its founding, the clan was given its own compound in Takigakure but eventually scattered across Konohagakure, Sunagakure and Kirigakure. The clan focuses on powerful poisons and their own bloodline ability, the Yuudoku Chishio. Clan members are often born with this technique, as it is not exactly uncommon. Shinobi from this clan, being able to turn their own blood into poison (putting themselves at risk in extreme instances), are feared for their intense, intimate style of battle. Yumeire clan members are most intelligent with the use of their own bloodline limit because of the precise chakra control they inherently have. This is not to be confused with chakra abundance, however. The Yumeire are born with standard reserves of chakra, as it is only through training that they hone their chakra capacity further. They simply have much better control over this energy than the average shinobi. The Yumeire's expert use of poison and the creation of it has lead them to be proficient in combining their own Toxic Blood ability and their craft in creating all kinds of poisons. This combination can prove excruciating and deadly for opponents. As for their fighting style, clan members typically use a very intense taijutsu form that constantly keeps them close to their opponents (hence the term "intimate" being used). They are taught to strike at precise points in the body of an opponent so that the pain and side effects from their poisons and Toxic Blood will do the most damage. There are two major highlights of this clan that become apparent to anyone who seriously faces a Yumeire in battle. The first is the members' focus on causing pain. The Yumeire's greatest ability lies in making opponents feel the worst pain that the human body can handle--and then some. Most of this clan's poisons cause great agony--the suffering being the primary goal. Side effects take second, usually. The second highlight is that clan members tend to be very ruthless in battle. They strike quickly and they strike hard in a unique style--one that at first feels like nothing significant but then quickly becomes a crippling thorn. Even those with high pain tolerance or medical abilities will fall victim to the excruciating techniques of the Yumeire's highest potential. The Yumeire clan members, because of their dealings in poisons, have been known to produce very skilled assassins. Shinobi trained in the highest, most powerful levels of poison can use either a toxin-dipped senbon or their own blood ability to kill enemies--each equally simple for those advanced in their study. It is also notable that because of this clan's high chakra control, they have a slight natural knack for learning genjutsu. Intelligence is an essential element for this clan. Those that do not prove themselves early on as dependable, strong fighters are often not given the proud task of completing high-ranking assignments on behalf of the village. For this reason there is an ever-present pressure to excel. If one wishes to study poisons to any degree, a visit to the Yumeire compound is a must. This clan is responsible for the creation of many potent poisons that have varying effects based on the person crafting them and their intended use. Anyone from genin to jonin can create these poisons, as the craft is encouraged from an early age. The potency is entirely dependent on the maker's skill, however. Some notable poisons that the Yumeire claim as their own are Kaive, Tevri, Saicho, Ashae, Onexa, Rohden, Tsumo, Tsuchem, Viael, Welsere, Airie, Cati, Ashi, Ashenn, and Rosemi. ~ Yumeire Clan ~ :: Poison Index :: - Spoiler:
Only two poisons may be applied to the opponent at any time, this includes the Kekkei Genkai. If a stronger poison is used, it was replace the effects of all lesser poisons with its own.
Mild (Genin+)
Kaive: Triggers sharp waves of pain upon any movement of the joints, especially the area initially struck. Spreads throughout the body quickly; doesn't do permanent damage. Typical duration is about 2 posts (by target).
Tevri: Induces waves of pain that cause the target's nerves to be hypersensitive to cold temperatures. These waves are difficult to ignore and last a moderate amount of time. Typical duration of pain is about 4 posts (by target), while cold sensitivity averages 3 posts (by target). -1 Stamina per post to victim.
Saicho: Inflicts moderate, lingering pain at the site of contact & stuns nerves to cause mild paralysis in the area of the body the poison initially struck. The affected area will still be functional, just a bit slower to respond. The duration of pain is 3 posts (by target) and the duration of mild paralysis is only 1 post by the target. -2 Stamina per post to victim. Chance of temporary paralysis to infected area is moderate.
Ashae: Inflicts dull, throbbing pain at the point of contact and then spreads to the rest of the body as a moderate burning sensation. It will make the target feel like his or her muscles are being super-heated to an uncomfortable extent and will cause them to feel numb after the poison is in the system long enough. This poison does no muscular damage, but it does painfully affect the nervous system. Typical duration is 2 posts by the target; the duration of numbness is also 2 posts after a delay of 3 posts (by target). .5 Stamina per post to victim. Effects are not immediate upon contact, -1 Speed.
Moderate (Chuunin+)
Onexa: Induces an all-over fiery sensation that lights nerves aflame with any quick or strong movement. This pain is enough to bring tears to one's eyes during intense battle maneuvers, and may result in slight inaccuracies in the throwing of projectiles. The typical duration is 3 posts by the target. -2 Stamina per post to victim. Chance of hitting is lower than normal.
Rohden: Triggers a whole-body pain that is most heavily concentrated in the lungs. Breathing in causes great agony, making the lungs feel like the target is taking in flames with every breath. The pain in the rest of the body is only slightly less painful, but it is enough to make evasion and offense equally bothersome to carry out. One suffering from this poison may find it difficult to focus their chakra due to the all-consuming agony of this toxic substance. Typically this lasts about 3 posts (by the target). -1 Chakra to victim per post. -1 to Genjutsu and Ninjutsu.
Tsumo: Creates a feeling of deep chill from within the target's body. This poison strikes the brain quickly, aiming to alter the pain recognition of the entire body. The victim to this toxin will very quickly notice his/her body feeling as if it's being frozen from the inside. This triggers an intense, painful cold, as if one is being exposed to the harshest arctic climate without any heavy clothing for protection. This terrible cold typically lasts about 4 posts (by target). -3 Stamina to victim per post. -2 Taijutsu and -3 Speed.
Tsuchem: Creates a highly effective state of elevated pain sensitivity in the target. This poison directly targets the brain to alter how nerves send and receive signals. It only works one way: to make any kind of pain feel five times worse than it would ordinarily be. A simple stab would very well lead someone to tears from the effects of this poison. The typical duration is approximately 5 posts (by target). Increases damage done to the victim by 5 stamina.
Severe (Chuunin+ // Jonin+)
Viael: Induces great waves of pain that wrack the body. These waves are impossible to ignore even by the strongest shinobi. They would bring most to tears from the terrible intensity. These waves make any movement all the more difficult and agonizing. Typical duration is about 4 posts (by target). -4 Stamina to victim per post. -4 Speed.
Welsere: Creates in the target a horrible fire. This fire sets ablaze all nerves at once, creating a constant pain that does not let up in the slightest. This particular poison is often used for the sole purpose of making one suffer greatly when there is no desire to leave any physical marks from damage. It only targets nerves--no tissue or organs are damaged. Typical duration is 3 posts (by target). -5 Stamina and -3 Chakra to victim per post.
Airie: This poison directly affects the brain and is especially dangerous when one is submitted to full exposure. Airie very quickly puts the target in a consuming state of light-headedness that makes the world spin before one's eyes with even the slightest movement. This toxin is the ultimate in disorientation, though because it is so potent it often doesn't last all that long. Anyone exposed to this poison will feel incredibly dazed and unbalanced, often not able to run in a straight line or throw weapons with normal accuracy. In addition, after the disorientation wears off, the target's limbs will begin to lose feeling. This is because the poison attacking the brain temporarily cuts off signals to random areas of the body. Though these random areas can technically be anywhere, the limbs are most often affected. This numbness can greatly impair one's ability to fight with certain weapons, aim projectiles, or counter and evade attacks. Duration of severe disorientation is approximately 2 posts (by target); afterward the numbness kicks in and lasts for about 3 posts (by target). Causes the victim to be unable to aim properly. After 2 posts, -5 Speed to victim.
Cati: This poison makes the target feel as though a giant tiger's claws are raking across his/her flesh. No matter where the target moves to, these sensations will affect them--as if a phantom wild cat is actually striking them from all angles. This pain is fiery and deep, often feeling like it is tearing apart one's organs from the inside (even though it really isn't). This agony is excruciating even for those with a high tolerance for pain, and many will find it difficult to attack or defend when they are in this much pain. The typical duration is 2 posts (by the target). -6 to Stamina to victim per post.
Extreme (Jonin+)
Ashi: This poison is entirely devoted to pain, as it only targets the nervous system. It does semi-permanent damage to the nerves after the initial pain is inflicted. This poison triggers an immense, lasting pain that is constant and powerful. It affects the entire body. Some have been known to scream in a crazed manner from the sheer intensity of this poison's effect. This recipe of toxins is particularly difficult to craft, and only high-ranking authorities of the Yumeire clan can create and teach it. It typically lasts about 4 posts (by the target). -7 Stamina to victim per post. -5 to Taijutsu.
Ashenn: Triggers the agonizing destruction of internal organs. This poison travels throughout the body rapidly, targeting organ tissue and killing its cells. Anyone able to see inside the target's body would observe the organs turning black as the cells are killed, effectively shutting down one's body in a horrifyingly painful way. This poison makes one feel as if they are dying a somewhat slow, terrible death. Only the highest-ranking medical jutsu can even begin to combat this poison's effects, but there's no guarantee of the toxin subsiding until it naturally fades into its dormant state. The duration of this poison is typically 5 posts by the target after a delay of 1 (target) post. However, if no medical action is taken or the shinobi affected is weak, this poison can very well kill the target due to its massive destructive power. The internal bleeding from this poison often causes alarm, as the target will typically bleed from the mouth, nose, or eyes suddenly right before the poison begins its assault on organ tissue. It should be noted that the last organ destroyed is the brain. -20 to Stamina per post. Will cause massive organ failure to occur after 3 posts, and may kill the victim if this poison was used more than once if no action is taken. May use Chakra to protect oneself (-10 Chakra) per post until a medic dissipates the poison.
Rosemi: If Ashenn is the most destructive toxin known to the Yumeire clan, then this is the most painful. Rosemi is known as "the nectar of the flowers from hell." It strikes the nervous system hard and fast, making targets feel as though they're being burned by the fires from the dark inferno itself. This poison is so unfathomably painful that victims have been known to pass out from the agony. Those who manage to stay conscious often see red flowers bloom before their eyes from the intensity of the pain. This poison makes any and all movements a fiery punishment, and fighting in this state would be immensely difficult for just about anyone. Rosemi is known only by poisons experts, such as Mai Yumeire (the clan's current poisons master). The duration is typically between 4-6 (target) posts. (The length of the poison's effects varies depending on the skill of the person who created it). This poison's agony is so great that those who try to endure the pain will wish they hadn't. It is the equivalent to being on the edge of death via the most potent assault on the nerves known to the shinobi world. -10 to Speed. Victim is prone to full body paralysis.
